    This was a close call but really, entering an intersection you should be clearly in front of or behind the cars so everyone has an escape route for whatever might happen in an intersection.

     There was more than enough time to reposition by the time you were halfway passed by the car. You could have slowed down to get away from the blind spot (certainly don’t speed up) or taken the lane behind the car (bonus for drafting so you get the slingshot when they make the right turn) 

    Always bet on them going for the right hook.

    Your rights on the road aren’t as useful as defensive skills.

    idk man, as soon as I saw the car creeping up and the dotted line on the shoulder, my ex-courier instinct is to tuck in behind the car on the driver’s side and catch a ride, but I get that ebikes don’t accelerate as quickly.

  3. I always own the lane as I enter an intersection. Get out of the bike lane if you’re going straight, and move into the car lane. Once clear of the intersection, move right to the bike lane.
