I worked on a customer’s handbrake cycle and was super proud of what I did, but I still have this lingering question on how I can do better for this guy. BTW, I’m still in contact with him.

The issue Im trying to correct/make better is the brake and the “rear derailuer” cables are ran in a way that has a chance to get gnarled up. When in proper operation, there’s no chance of it, but getting on and getting ready or just moving it, the way the handles hang will allow the cables to become food for the chainrings at the hand cranks.

Is there a sleeve you can think of, or something to harden the cable housing to give it some longevity?
