That’s not snapped by the looks of it. It looks like a powerlink that wasn’t correctly set before you rode.

That’s not snapped that’s just the quick link its designed to come apart, put both ends back in the holes stand on the pedals and it should snap back into position.

Yes, that happened to me while cleaning the chain… you just need to put it back in place and tighten the chair 👍🏽
