  1. Cycle lanes are pointless because cyclists simply do not use them…. I know this because I'm a professional driver who covers 3000km per week and it rare to see cyclists using the cycle ways.

  2. I am a cyclist, I will not use these because they are dangerous, worse than just using the road.
But I don't use the roads anyway because it's too dangerous lol,
I cycle completely off road on old tracks etc and take my chances with tree roots, thorns, pedestrians/ dogs, Brocken glass etc etc etc because it is still safer and nicer than mixing it up with cars and lorries etc.

I think cyclist have a bad reputation and so I do my best to be as courteous as I possibly can when I'm out and about to make up for the idiots lol.

Roads are for cars, pavements are for walking on, bikes are a fantastic way to get around on IF there is a route suitable for them and somewhere safe to leave the bike which 99% of the time there isn't…..

  3. If anything roads need to be wider for cars and lorries so why no just make all that part of the road for cars and obviously cyclists use it as normal as they always have done

Its not like there are constantly cyclists on the road anyway. I only ever pass one once un a blue moon.

  4. Cycle lanes shouldn't take away from pedestrian infrastructure, and should only take away from car infrastructure where it is not a major through route.

It is entirely possible to create infrastructure that works for everyone, cheaply and efficiently, it's just not something that the UK knows how to do.

  5. Rotherham council specialise in pissing money down drain. Think what 3 million could have done to actually make town centre a bit more appealing
