I bought a Neuron:ONfly CF 8 about a month ago and took it with me on a trip to Spain. In the middle of a route, the chainring suddenly came completely loose, the chain dropped, and the ring did a deep scratch in the suspension arm. I ended up having to walk around 15 km back home in near 0°C weather.

On top of that, the rear suspension has been leaking oil pretty much all the time.

I contacted Canyon, and after waiting about 3 days for a reply, they basically told me to go to a service center. The service center fixed the chainring issue, but they also told me they would need to request a full replacement of the rear suspension due to the oil leak. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to wait because I was only on holiday in Spain and had to return to the Netherlands, so I couldn’t use the bike anymore for the rest of the trip.

Now back in NL with the chainring supposedly fixed, I went out for another ride today, and in the middle of the route the chainring came loose again. The chain dropped again, and I had to walk around 7 km back this time.

I also noticed the chain is starting to rust, probably because it has been constantly rubbing against the chainguard.

Another thing I noticed is that the joint between the rear suspension and the frame is getting scratched because small stones keep getting stuck in that gap. It feels like a questionable design choice — either the gap should be larger or it should be covered/protected somehow.

I’m wondering if the thread or locking mechanism that holds the chainring might be wrong, because it keeps loosening under pedaling. It almost feels like the thread could be inverted or incorrectly designed. Does someone else have this issue?

My bike only has 121Km, are these common issues on this model? And is it normal to have so many problems with Canyon and such slow customer support?
