Part1 – Regensburg to Straubing: meanders and monuments
The Danube accompanies you on gentle meanders through the flat landscape of the Gäuboden. A highlight along the way: the Walhalla, the monumental memorial high above the river. Arriving in Straubing, you are greeted by a town full of tradition – known for its colourful Gäuboden folk festival and its charming town centre.
Part2 – From Straubing via Deggendorf to Plattling: Gothic meets Baroque
Cycle through quiet villages and past art-historical highlights via Bogen – famous for its Madonna statue – to the old trading town of Deggendorf. The Gothic and Baroque facades of the old town centre tell of a rich history. After a few more kilometres you reach Plattling.
