Friction Shift SRAM Force 10 Speed Bar End Shifter

My objective is to eventually convert to 11 speed. Being able to friction shift would be a helpful half-step, when that day comes.

I'm new to the SRAM ecosystem. Can this bar end shifter be converted to friction?

I have seen posts that indicate that indexing can be disabled by removing something, perhaps that gear that I have displayed?
