A thrilling finish, a protest – and a Norwegian in the leader’s jersey!
After 175.7 kilometers of stage 3, Danny van Poppel crossed the finish line in first place – but the jury decided: irregular sprinting behavior. The result: relegation and the stage win goes to Søren Wærenskjold (Uno-X Mobility), who thus continues to wear the overall leader’s blue jersey.
In the interview, the Norwegian is reflective:
“I don’t really want to win like this. Danny was the strongest – if he had held his line, he would have won too.”
