In the autumn of 2017, Tom and I walked the South Downs Way carrying a ten month old Frankie from Eastbourne, the full 100 miles back to Winchester over five days.

As these things are, it was a pretty intense journey both mentally and physically. I was still breastfeeding and Frank was teething, but it’s still one of best things I’ve ever done. I find something so soul soothing about travelling long distances in a pack.

This morning all three of us set off again from Eastbourne, this time on our bikes. We’re heading back to Winchester over four days.

For those that aren’t familiar with the South Downs, it’s very hilly, and although Frank is on an e-bike, it’s still pretty tough going. She’s totally smashed today (730 metres of climbing) and we’re incredibly proud of her.

Tomorrow is a much longer ride but the hills are less savage so feeling positive.

All web orders placed between last Sunday and midday tomorrow will be sent out on an express service as soon as we get home on Thursday afternoon. Thank you for bearing with me 😊.
