My one and only bike!
It is a 1986(?) Giant Sierra that I bought used for 25€ 3 years ago. Never saw another frame like this in all red, so it is kind of a unicorn to me.
The paint was good, but the components were kinda rusty and moldy (and bugs were literally coming out of the seat). I restored it to rideable condition, which I then rode every day for about 2 years (see last picture).
As it is my only bike, I regularly took it offroad and it was extremely fun. But after doing some longer rides (especially in the wet) I realized the bike was held back by the 80s technology. I decided to modernize it while keeping it somewhat classy looking (but ditch the whole grandpa bike look haha).
I went for silver and black components, most of them I either got for free from friends or bought used. The wheels I wanted to keep original because they are really cool, but I could not pass up a set of silver Crossmax SLs! I think these made the biggest impact riding wise, it is sooo much lighter now and has way less rolling resistance than before, and really transformed this bike.
Love this thing to death, I will definitely keep it riding for as long as I am able to, and wanted to share it.
