All right so I got fried in my last post for not having foot retention and for having a bad angle on my saddle so I'm posting again with my current bike settings. I would like to change the colors of my nibbles, should I change all of them or I could just paint them and would it look good? Need advice thank you

  1. Replacing them would work best but that’s gonna be a pain and requires you to know how to true a wheel. If you want them black, you can probably get away with taping off the rim and using black spray paint or nail polish. I wouldn’t try to paint any other color. Also, results are not guaranteed.

Also, your bar tape is gross

  2. Hard to notice the nibbles when the bar tape looks like it’s carrying Covid-26.

(Sorry for the roast, this is a dope bike of which I am jealous)

Replacing the nipples requires completely rebuilding the wheels. Unless you have money to burn I would advise against it. Painting them could lead to seizing the threads, making future wheel truing more difficult and I would strongly advise against it.

I would say that you need to be an experienced wheel builder to even consider replacing one nipple. What want to do is fully rebuild your wheels. And I’d you’re going to change all the nipples, best practice would be all new spokes, as well.

So, if say you have two options:

    1. Paint them. A little finicky, but easy enough and if you do a good job it should look fine, especially if you’re just going with black.

    2. Take your wheels to a shop and have them rebuilt.
