I have a Cinelli Vai stem and yesterday I noticed what looks like a crack or missing piece on the stem clamp. It doesn’t seem to extend all the way, just where it’s visible in the photo. Both holes seem to have this issue, did I overtighten the bolts?
I checked old pictures I’ve taken and it has been like this at least 1-2 months, but I only got the stem last fall and I’m not sure if it was like this from the start.
I got a Topeak Comotorq recently and tightened it to 5 Nm, but I did it by feel before.
Also, if it should be replaced, can I replace it at least temporarily with a stem clamp from a different model of stem?

This looks more like an manufacturing error aka cold slug to me. Def. Something I would recall or if that’s no more possible at least keep an eye on.
