The land of the free and the home of the Brave is living up to its current reputation for persecuting minority groups. The latest one is cyclists in Iowa. Fortunately opposition to the legislation has caused it to be pulled. If this was to be enacted, bike touring there would be further marginalised.

[RAGBRAI](https://ragbrai.com/) is a pilgrimage and a serious tourist bump to many small towns – I doubt they’d mess with that.
Someone should have mentioned RAGBRAI before this came up for consideration.
I’m sure RAGBRAI will have a special exception, since there are road blockages in place to keep cars away from the event.
The law is however very stupid, as there are a ton of aspects to it that would essentially make it impossible to go for a gravel ride or literally get from A to B in Des Moines area.
This was an insult to everyone riding a bicycle.
