From February 1–6, 2026, the legendary freeride venue of Ordino Arcalís, Andorra, becomes the stage for a historic milestone in snow sports: the inaugural Allianz FIS Freeride World Championships Andorra 2026 by Mammut. Sanctioned by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation, this landmark event officially brings freeride skiing and snowboarding into the FIS World Championship framework for the first time.

A total of 65 elite freeriders will compete across four categories: Ski Men, Ski Women, Snowboard Men, and Snowboard Women—with only one run to showcase their most powerful line and secure a place in freeride history.

Beyond individual world titles, the championships also introduce a new Nations Ranking, featuring a medal-based team competition. Points will be awarded to the top five finishers in each category, with up to 100 points for a win, all contributing to the overall Medal Standing that will crown the world’s top freeride nation.

  1. Didn't get to see the end but I totally enjoyed watching it and congratulations to the winners and everyone that competed. Always great sportsmanship and some of the most amazing athletes I've ever seen!
    Thanks again from the USA!

  2. Big FWT fan and lifelong skier with a suggestion: please improve the commentary or just let us hear the rider. During Kai Jones underscored run for example it was ‘chit chat’ as he hucked huge cliffs. I had to mute it.
