I recently bought a Canyon Aeroad CFR and plan to fly with it using an EVOC Bike Travel Bag Pro (the older, non-road-specific version).
Because of the integrated cockpit, I’ve removed the drops from the bars and packed it as shown in the photo. With the drops removed, the bar width is basically the same as the internal width of the bag. There isn’t a ton of side padding at the bar ends, though I could add some foam or bubble wrap between the inside of the bag and the bar endpoints where the brake hoses exit.
Is this a bad idea / unnecessarily risky? Curious if anyone has packed an integrated cockpit this way and flown without issues.
I’ll probably be traveling with this bike 2-3 times a year. If this setup is genuinely sketchy long-term, I’d rather know now and consider a different bag.

Could you cut some pvc pipe a bit wider than the bike in spots and put it in the bag as internal bracing/smash protection?
I would certainly secure the bar ends so that they can’t get bashed off by the baggage handler gorillas. I would also add come pool noodle to the top bar to extend over the ends (and the brake hose). Some pvc might not hurt either.
Got the same setup, flown several times with no issue.
Does the pad that goes on the triangle near the fork have tie down points? The bar should be strapped to that on the inside of the bag, not near the opening.
Not 100% confident as I have the Bike Bag Pro, but that pad looks similar.
Pool noodle to fit over and secure with straps. I’d also be a bit more concerned with the pedal on the right crank.
I would sacrifice a couple pool noodles to add some extra protection to the bars and stem area
