Ready to step up from my ole marlin 6, looking for a short-mid travel trail bike.
Any sales that yall would recommend over either of these?
- Gt Sensor sport-
$1200

- Stump jumper 15 alloy- $2200 (from local bike shop)

Another question, is the stumpy worth spending almost double the money? Would be a stretch for my 22 year old self, but I do plan to keep this bike for 5+ years
Here’s some info if anyone wants to recommend another bike as well
– M, 22, 5’10”, ~155lbs
– I like to ride hard, rocks, jumps, and some tech stuff too
– Mostly trails, but needs to handle bike parks on occasion
– I will crash the bike, probably pretty regularly
– I will still have my marlin for pure xc duty
– I can’t fit everything I dislike about my marlin here
– Located in Houston currently, moving back to NW Arkansas this year though
– I’m not worried about building the bike if I order one online

Curious to hear others thoughts on this as well. I’m in the market for my first FS and really want that same Stumpy. Seems like the best available in the $2000-$2500 range based on my [99Spokes.com](http://99Spokes.com) research.
I bought my hardtail online and it was really easy to assemble. Basically all I had to do was put on the handlebars and front wheel. Everything else was good to go. I’m assuming these would come the same?
I think the status 140 is a better bike compared to the stumpy. The suspension is cheap, the parts are cheap, and the frame is heavy AF.
I’ve got a 2022 stumpy pro and 2025 Status. The status is faster in rough, steep terrain. The Stumpy is better everywhere else.
Unless you want to drop some money into the stumpy, I think the status is a better buy.
