I’m looking through the hose shortening pdf and the barb is supposed to have a T8 head. This one is new from a complete Sram force E1 hose, and has just a hole..? I know the manual says to not reuse olive and barb, but the barb does not deform when it’s installed, and there was not supplied an extra with the kit. And the hose is 130% long.

Barbs from factory do not have the torx head as you are supposed to cut the hose and install the new barb
The factory barbs do not have the T8 head. They also come pre-plugged. They are meant to be disposed of when the hose is shortened, and replaced with a Thing-a-majig barb (of which you should have gotten a couple extra in the packaging).
In theory, it’s a regular barb. I suppose you could snip the hose end off, carefully cut away the remaining hose, and shove a thin needle through it to remove the plug, and then use it normally with a normal barb press.
