Heading South to Boreham Wood, having watched us at Morecambe, not really turn up and coming away with a 2-2 draw. So this trip had a bit of trepidation about it. Wood being one of the best teams a lot have seen play at GP this season. Also having lost once at home this season in the league. Quite a few myself included, couldn’t see anything but a Wood win.
Well how wrong were we. The team turned up and put a real shift in. The first half we didn’t let them have time with the ball. We were on to them, we played with a good tempo, pressed high, defended when we needed to. A lot were worried about AbdulMalik. We needn’t have worried, he was kept quiet. Where was this team against Morecambe. What a reaction it was. Going into half time 3 up. Beyond our wildest expectations.
Second half as you’d expect Wood came out and had nothing to lose. They had to attack and do something. Was also chucking it down with rain. So the fast slick passing we might have seen when they played at Scunthorpe wasn’t helped by a pitch that looked heavy. We defended well again as a team. They scored one with 6 mins left, they hit the post also. Penalty appeal thrown in the mix. We also had a glorious chance to make it 4. A great ball by Horton to Howe, who I feel had way too much time to think about it. In doing so putting the ball wide of the post, when it looked easier to score. Luckily it didn’t cost us the game. The hard work had been done before that, especially scoring 3 in the first half.
So the 244 plus a few away fans in the home end – get in!! This is why we follow our team, for nights like these.
Forest Green up next Saturday at GP, 17.30 kick off. Get a ticket bought and get behind them. Another big game at the top of the table, let’s fill those stands 💪🏻 #UTI
*Aplogies for the lack of a vlog really. Had some major issues with the phone especially the second half in the rain 🫣 Hopefully back to normal Saturday. Cheers to everyone 👏🏻👏🏻

trust you to be at the wrong end 🤐
well done. Westbrook doing ok ?
What a night and what a solid showing, especially that dominant first half. Hats off to you lot braving the pouring rain for the best part of an hour. Wish I could make it up to Scunny this weekend for the Forest Green (H) match, though I'm sure there will be a lot of support at Glanny Park (Attis, whatever) on Saturday. Up The Iron!
Nice one, Scunny. BH have been playing well so you deserved that and kept yourselves in the race.
Great result 😊😊
Up the Iron! Cheers from Poland❤
