Last minute heartache, again!! So a trip to struggling Morecambe, who were just dumped out of the FA Trophy by Kidderminster 6-2. Wasn’t that easy for Scunthorpe on the day. We had our own struggles, mainly ourselves. We just never got to grips with the game. Was it the coach break down, the late warm up, not getting off the pitch till 14.50, or was it that we were expecting an easier game. Whatever the reason, the first half wasn’t great in the slightest. Standing off players, allowing too much space. In all fairness to Morecambe though, they’re no mugs. They have quality players all over the pitch. Azeez in the middle pulling strings and scoring goals, Nolan, Edward’s on the wing. Blackman in goal 🤷🏻‍♂️ When they played at our place they looked good, just never got anything from the game. This time they did!!
We picked it up in the 2nd half and managed to score 2, to take the lead. Though it never felt comfortable. At times our own worst enemy too. Some of the passing was short or the wrong ball. Easy to say from up in the stands. Though what Morecambe did well was stretch the team. Nolan/Eswards hugging the side line, leaving space for diagonal balls to be pinged across.
As much as it hurts conceding in the last minute. I don’t think any Scunthorpe fan can come away from the game and say Morecambe deserve anything from the game. They were the better team for the majority of it. We need to dust ourselves down, look at what happened good and bad and get ready for Boreham Wood Tuesday night. We need to step up our game and some. Morecambe to stay up? Playing like they do and if they can keep the players – i think so. #UTI

  1. Hi Gareth,

We are two Danish supporters of Scunthorpe United planning a trip to England to attend the away match against Carlisle on February 10th.

Could you please advise us on which stand we should purchase tickets for as away fans?
