I’ve Frankensteined a Chris king zs44 upper with a 1 1/8 baseplate to fit onto my Kona Sutra LTD. Before I go pressing in a couple hundred bucks of headset onto my new frame I was wondering if this gap is acceptable/ normal (I’m over thinking it) or if this is just going to be a trap for dirt and grime. Is there a rubber seal I can put in there?
I put in a picture, I know it’s not pressed in but the bottom of the baseplate has a lip (which I guess is made to keep the headset cup from rubbing on the fork) but since my fork is wide you can see I’ll be left with a 1mm gap.
Thanks!
