I'm looking for a commuter bike, for generally about 40 minutes a day, but also use it for slightly longer journeys around the city & shopping etc. I live in Cambridge so don't need to got up hills or anything.
I want one that come equipped with rack, mudgards, dynamo lights, kickstand.
I think I've narrowed it down to one of the following, but would also be interested in alternative suggestions:
- Ridgeback Supernova Eq: https://www.ridgeback.co.uk/ridgeback-supernova-eq-varrb2166
- SCOTT Metrix 20 EQ, https://www.scott-sports.com/gb/en/product/scott-metrix-20-eq-bike
- Trek FX Sport AL Equipped, https://www.trekstore.co.uk/shop/bikes/hybrid/trek-2026-fx-sport-al-equipped-19307/option/
Of those, the trek is the heaviest which puts me off. I wanted the FX 3 Eq, but I can't seem to find it in stock anywhere in my size (M); it looks like perhaps there's a new model, but it doesn't seem to be currently available equipped.
Conversely the scott is the lightest but more expensive (although once cycle scheme it isn't such a big difference); it perhaps has an "aggressive" riding position though?
But tbh, I'm not that knowledgeable, so don't really know what I should be looking for beyond price, weight and whether it has the features I want.
