but at some stage in the production a Brompton was…
… in the music video for The Bike Song by Mark Ronson & The Business Intl. where it appears as stand-in for unfolding a nearly as cool DJ BMX bike.
Spoiler: Broken RH (eeh LH?! 🙂 roller stud at triangle's bridge, apparently with original conical cup roller @ 0m33s.
Clamps appear to be post pre-2004, but stem's clamp @ 0m36s appears digitally manipulated to look like something else as clamping is completed. The song was released in 2010.
Notice: It is apparently a Brompton from an evil parallel universe, as the chainwheel is on the left-hand side. Though since it has no visible goatee, the image may might as well have been mirrored. Whatever fits your hypothesis best. Artistic license…
Enjoy!
PS! Do feel free to watch the whole thing. Maybe in .25x speed; a few quirky bikes and modifications for keen eyed cyclists to spot! (e.g. Sachs/Torpedo trigger and modern veebrake style handles on an apparently Sturmey-Archer SAB equipped bike with "hipster retro dynamo styled" headlight [possibly battery powered, hence no dynamo] and two brackets for battery lights, the frontmost bent. And a vintage Moulton!)
