Made a last minute decision to join the parents cycling trip along the Western Front from Amiens to Bruge last year and caught the Eurostar across from London with our Bromptons.
To take your brompton on the Eurostar they must be in a bag! We had a mad rush around St Pancras station 20minutes before our train looking for a bag big enough for our bikes. In the end we got 2 massive gift bags from Hamleys, then borrowed tape and kraft paper from another store and wrapped them like frankenstein christmas presents.
I was riding the black Brompton which is only a 2-speed which was mostly fine except for the few hills we encountered.
The toughest section was somewhere between Bethune and Ypres where it was dead flat but we were cycling straight into an immense headwind for what felt like hours.
10/10 would do again.
