Hi,
I am new to reddit and thought it was a good chance to start in the community presenting my restomod road bike. While I follow and use the current material on the MTB, I am not a big fan of the nowadays road bikes.
The starting point is a frame Colnago c40 first generation with the Lampre livery, my size is 54. That is dressed with:
– Complete Super Record 11sp groupset with compact 50-34T option ahead. The only modification was changing the original Ti cassette 11-29 with a Recon alloy 11-32.
– Alloy wheels Mavic SLR 125 special edition. Riding tubeless with Continental GP5000S TR in 28c ahead and 25c at the back (originally used 28c also but sometimes rubbed the frame).
– Carbon handlebar and alloy stem, both Deda Superleggera.
– Generic 25.4mm saddle post. These frames use 28mm propietary size and I preferred makind a 3D sleeve to use something lighter.
– Saddle Selle Italia SLR flow Carbonio. I have this same saddle on all my bikes, comfortable and very light.
– Pedals Shimano PD-ES600. These are SPD and quite heavy, but I use same shoes for all bikes and they work great
– Ti bottle cages.
All together, including pedals, gave an incredible weight of 6.810 gramms. Without any compromise to the reliability, I like enjoying the rides and not collecting tales of disasters. The weakest point is the alloy cassette, but for the moment there is no issue with about 2.000km done.
