From London to Basildon and Back: Tracing Depeche Mode’s First Steps

On 29 December 2025, I travelled from Fenchurch Street to Basildon to visit key locations from Depeche Mode’s early years, including the former Raquels nightclub, Dave Gahan’s and Martin Gore’s former homes, before returning via Laindon station. A quiet walk through the places where it all began.
