Hi I’m not a big bike person, but I do enjoy the history aspect a bit. Acquired a very Rusty step through bike off marketplace (of course the seller claims 100years though I doubt it).
While brushing down the rust a bit I noticed this red bit on the wheels. Only thing google can tell me about bike wheels with red line on the inside is that it’s a bmx. Now like I said, I don’t know much about bikes, but I’m pretty sure that a 28” step through bike is not a bmx.
The front mudguard also appears unique in that it gets narrow at the front. Black paint is visible on the inside of the rear mudguard.
Am fully aware that any of the parts could have been replaced at any time, but there are a few unique aspects to this bike that has me curious if it’s a 1960’s or a 1940’s.
Any help is appreciated. I’m trying to work down through the rust without damaging underlying paint in case there’s a decal down there. Have found no headbadge or sign there was one originally on
