Hey everyone, I’m having trouble with a rear hub/cassette setup and I’m not sure what I’m missing.

For your reference, this was a 2nd hand road bike that I bought a year ago to travel to and from work. Now that I realized that I like cycling, I tried buying a new hub and had it changed.

My frame dropouts measure 137mm (quick-release). I’m using a Tanke TH390 135mm rear hub (12-speed). The hub and cassette were bought separately and assembled at a bike shop.

There’s just not enough space between the cassette and the frame. Without spacers, the cassette can spin but with a lot of friction!

To fit the hub, I added 7mm of spacers total (5mm drive side, 2mm non-drive side). This made shifting work, but the wheel is now a bit off-center.

Am I missing a spacer/adapter that should go between the hub and cassette, or is the hub simply not compatible with my frame?

Any help or explanation would be appreciated.
