Ricky Catchpole, 33, was riding his Yamaha R1 motorcycle on the A5 in Milton Keynes in April 2024 when he was captured by police travelling at 127mph. His motorcycle was displaying no numberplate at the time.

When officers tried to stop him, he took off at incredible speed, leading to a police chase.

Catchpole fell off the bike when trying to take a tight corner at a lower speed.

He was convicted at court following a trial and was hit with a month’s driving ban and a fine and costs of over £5,000.

  1. “28 day disqualification”??! The police do a good job, but the punishment people seem to get once they’re caught is ridiculously soft! Besides, if someone is prepared to ride like that way from the police, I’m pretty sure they won’t take any notice of a disqualification.

  2. Looking at this video evidence it’s hard to believe that guy has ever gone over the speed limit in his life. Look like he’s taking his CBT. 1985 bikes could do 160mph. Just saying

  3. I watched it a second time and the only vehicle I saw speed was the police car. Hope they had better evidence in court. Otherwise it’s an unsafe conviction. The guy obviously can’t ride a superbike.
