Join me on a historic ride along the newly completed Carlingford Lough Greenway, starting from Newry, Northern Ireland, all the way to Republic of Ireland. For the first time ever, the border section at Victoria Lock is open, creating a fully connected cross-border greenway!

We set off on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning, gliding past stunning views of Carlingford Lough, through Victoria Lock, into Omeath, and finally reaching Carlingford village — all without touching a main road!

This world class 25km greenway offers a safe, scenic alternative to the narrow and busy A1/N1 road. What’s more it connects with the Newry-Portadown Towpath, completing a 52km off-road cycling route from Belfast to Dublin via Sustrans Route 9 The Great Eastern Greenway.

📍Perfect for:
✅ Leisure cyclists
✅ Green travel lovers
✅ Borderland explorers
✅ Anyone seeking adventure in Ireland’s most scenic corners

🅿️ Looking for parking?
In this video, I’ll also show you where to park your car in Newry before starting your ride, and how much it costs. Super useful if you’re planning your own cross-border cycling trip!

Hit play, and let’s cross borders on two wheels 🚴‍♀️🌿
