Camino 2025 (Le Puy-en-Velay – Cahors) – Hiking days 11 – 16

In May-June 2025, Petra and I started our joined Camino from Le-Puy-en-Velay (this is where Petra ended a couple of years ago after doing the Via Gebennensis) up to Cahors in 16 hiking days.
This is one of the most famous Caminos De Santiago and is also known as the Via Podiensis. It runs on the same paths as the GR65.

Starting on Ascension means you will have a lot of fellow Pilgrims on your path. And we did. What surprised us though was the amount of families that started their Camino with sometimes really young kids.

Petra had booked all our overnights up front, and that was needed. We met Pilgrims that by noon were still looking for a spot to sleep the very same night.
It also means that you meet a lot of nice fellow Pilgrims and that you seldom drink a beer (or something else) on your own.

In this video we hike the final stages of our 2025 Camino. The last couple days, we faced temperatures above 30° C which is HOT, very HOT. 🙂
This also means that your speed drops as you need to rest more, seek some shade, … Nevertheless, it were again very beautiful hiking days and the wealth of flowers and butterfies was overwhelming.
Spectaculair approaches towards Cajarc and later Cahors, the river ‘Le Lot’, the forming of friendships between pilgrims and so much more … it all made this Camino unforgettable.
The next stage, and also final part of the GR65, is now planned for May this year.
