Strasbourg (pop. 275K) is very charming, a lively university town and is deeply rooted culture of active mobility. It has been a top bicycle friendly friendly city in France and Europe overall, now with a well connected system of over 600 km (373 mi).

Here is a ride into the city’ center- a UNESCO World Heritage site, on a variety of interconnecting facilities in this sequence:

1. Rue de Vienne – wide protected bike lane and one of busiest in city (8,390 ADT in 2022)
2. 30 kph zone (30mph) one way auto and two lane bi directional cycle track roadway corridor
3. parking/floating island separated cycle track
4. two way cycle lanes (these lanes seemed to common ‘gap’ fillers to connect the system
5. raised bike lane adjacent to the Strasbourg Tramway
