July/August 2025. The story of a two month bike touring / bike travel journey through the natural beauty of Scandinavia. 4068km, mostly cruising lesser known itineraries throughout Norway and Sweden instead of chasing the classic touristic highlights. All the same filled with inspiring on the road adventures, magnificent sceneries, and interesting talks with various people who have crossed my path. Dream away and let yourself be inspired to get on your bike too… First leg of the journey: Göteborg, Sweden (Gothenburg) to Trondheim, Norway. Second leg: Trondheim via Mo-i-Rana to Jokkmokk, Sweden. Third leg: Jokkmokk to Göteborg.
Being old school I still use the good old panniers instead of going ‘bikepacking’… for now…

  1. What a beautiful route. In 2017, I was 67 and rode from Aachen, DE to Trondheim and back. From Gothenburg I took a very similar route to the one you took. Very sparsely populated, but absolutely beautiful.

  2. What a beautiful film that was, and what a wonderful journey you had – I actually feel quite emotional after watching it! I am a fellow cycle touring addict who fell in love with travelling solo by bike when my partner (who has always hated travelling) decided to no longer go on holidays with me – I had to find something I could do alone, and cycling ended up being perfect. Sometimes I can get a little lonely, but the trips are made much more fun by the small interactions you have with lovely people along the way – and that experience is even greater in The Netherlands and Belgium thanks to Vrienden op de Fiets. I have had some truly wonderful experiences staying with hosts in those countries, and have even made some lifelong friends after meeting people who I truly clicked with – the time spent with them always ends up being the most memorable parts of the trips.

Anyway, dank je wel for creating such a lovely video for us all to enjoy, and all the best for your future adventures. You are clearly a really good guy and I hope our paths cross one day on the road! 🙂

  3. Interesting video with lovely interactions with people, well done! I like Scandinavia, especially Norway. I was there for some trekking trips. Now I'm cylcling like you, mostly in Switzerland. I'm now 64 and I hope I can do this some years more. If I could do this until 80 like the Lady yoe met, that would be great.
Kind regards – and keep coing on!

    Alex

  5. Thank you for this beautiful film. I hope you continue to struggle with your addiction for many years to come! 😂 And give us many more films…..

  6. I biked from Holland to the North Cape a long time ago and I don't recall having any fun doing it, except for the great view when I arrived… But at least you seem to have fun 🙂

  7. Lovely. I enjoyed it! But got a heavy, getting old feeling about it. Even the music. Don't forget, getting old is a privilege, denyed to many! My sister in law just die of cancer a month ago. She was only 51! Let's enjoy the moment, is all we got! And to travel and see new places! Respect!

  8. In love with Scandinavia, especially Norway, and your wonderful videos. Once a year is better than nothing. Until the next one, greetings from Italy.

  9. Great Videos. You really can tell a story. If you ever come to Australia you are invited to stay at our place in Brisbane . I might even come for a Ride with you, Martin
