Took inspiration from a bike 4Rensho had on his YouTube channel a while back. Figured if it was a disaster I was only out a bell. I had stripped its lacquer a few weeks ago and did a rapid patina with vinegar/salt fumes in a box after seeing that done by Eric Marth. I’m happy with how it came out and the end effect on sound is really just a shortening of the ring length which I appreciate.

Some shortening of the ding is not all, it will also be quiter, since there is not only less mass, but also it is nore difficult to get the air to move, producing the sound.
It is pretty, but you need to buy a working bell.
