Hi. This is my dad’s bike, which he bought new in early 1950s (trading in his train set at the toy/bike shop on the Wirral, England). He rode it all around Europe post-war. And around England and Wales with me in the 1980s. I now want to clean it up and mount it on the wall (not to ride).
It needs:

Handlebar stem. The current one has snapped in transit. What do I search for on ebay or wherever?

Tires – weirdly, the tires (likely from 1980s) have sort of melted. It cannot possibly ever have gotten that hot. Could they possibly have reacted with bubble wrap during shipping???

Cleanup to make it look nice, hanging on my wall. Any tips?
I think it’s Lenton Tourer, based in the right dates and this brochure I found online. Any other info or insights on this bike would be much appreciated too.
