Merida is 2×10 GRX
Cube is 2×12 GRX

Anyone have experience with any of these bikes? Which one is a better choise for best performance?
Is it worth pating additional 100€ for 2×12?

  1. In my eyes the silex has an insanely long reach across all sizes. Bought one of the older models used a few years ago for a friend. That was before I knew how to read a geometry chart. She is 1.70m while I am 1.86m and her bike in a size small has a longer reach than my size large of a different manufacturer.
If you’re trying to get a relaxed bike, stay away from the silex unless your bike fitter tells you to buy it.

  2. Nuroad race has better components and is a bit lighter, but overall, they are comparable. Maybe test both and see which one fits better for you. I personally would go for the nuroad race.

About 2×10 or 2×12: Imo that does not matter too much. Would be a different question if you asked about 2×10 or 1×12.

  3. I myself ordered the Nuroad Race. What i would note is the larger tyre clearence on the cube + better groupset. The price of the Nuroad is quite high on your screenshot (if you are EU based). Normal price at dealers in EU is 1599€, online you can find it for 1500€.
