Is this 2018 Santa Cruz 5010 alloy a good beginner bike? And is this a good price?
I'm interested in starting mountain biking and am considering this Santa Cruz. Is $600 a fair price for it? I was looking for a 29er & this is a 27.5 is there a difference?
As always, it depends on what trails you want to ride with it. If you ride mellow and more flowy trails, the bike is right for you. If you want to do more technical stuff, bigger jumps or even a bikepark trip, you should look for a bike with a little more travel. Todays gerneration of the 5010 seems more agile and is trimmed towards a fun trailbike more heavily than the 2018 version.
Regarding the price, it’s hard to tell the condition of the components. But if they are in good shape, you can go for it.
