Was this a good purchase for casual cycling. 30t/38t/50t – 3×9 Sora 3400. Was wondering if the 105 brake set in picture 2 and 3 is an upgrade to the tektro brake set that is currently installed. I would like a little more braking power when using the brakes from the hoods. The brakes on the tops and drops are good enough. Just riding around the block and maybe doing power sprints every once in a while.

Sure, if it fits you.
The big thing on rim brakes once they get a few years in them is the pads get old and hard.
Either one should do just fine with new pads. Also if you need new cables it might be a reason you’re not happy with your brakes.
