Does anybody use a canyon with a: Canyon SP0043 VCLS CF Seatpost and has changed the top clamps? I just bought a new saddle and I don’t know if there are spare parts for my seatpost since it doesn’t seem to be listed on there site anymore.

Not nessesery. The clamping IS from top down, on other Canyon Seatposts the clamping comes from the Side, and you need a different clamp.

  2. I use different clamps for my carbon saddle, they came with the carbon seatpost. But I assume that as long as you stick to the saddle railing and seatpost torque specifications, it should be fine either way? I can’t imagine there would be any issues.

Yes, you absolutely need different clamps because your new carbon saddle likely has 7x9mm oval rails, while the stock clamps on your SP0043 seatpost are designed for standard 7x7mm round rails; using the round clamps on oval rails will create pinch points and likely crack the carbon. Even though your specific seatpost model isn’t listed, it uses the same head design as the current S13 and S25 VCLS 2.0 posts, so you need to buy the Canyon GP0189-01 Adapter Kit for Oval Rails to safely install that saddle
