    【新春年越しフェリー旅】日本最長”太平洋フェリー”で40時間2泊3日の船旅｜相部屋半個室カプセルルーム



    今年の年末は、人生で初めて 船の中で年越し をしてきました。
    舞台は 太平洋フェリー（名古屋 → 仙台 → 苫小牧）。
    日本最長距離クラス、40時間の船旅です。

    年末でほぼ満室の船内。帰省する家族、団体ツアー、そして一人旅。
    同じ船に乗っていても、それぞれの年末の過ごし方があるのが印象的でした。

    名物の 名港トリトン橋の下潜り で名古屋を出港。
    夜はビュッフェやピアノ＆ヴォーカルのラウンジショーを楽しみ、大晦日には 年越しそば、元日には カレーバイキング。

    仙台港では約2時間の一時下船。
    周辺は東日本大震災の被災地でもあり、静かに歩きながら当時のことを思い返しました。

    そして迎えた 海の上のカウントダウン。
    翌朝は初日の出を待つ人でデッキが人だかりになるも、
    −2℃・みぞれ・強風という過酷なコンディションに。

    荒天で揺れていたフェリーも、
    苫小牧に着く頃には 嘘のような快晴（−7℃）。
    あっという間の40時間でした。

      "Enjoyed" the New Year Eve cruise….,😊..,"have upcoming 2026 safe travels,(the "curry buffet" meal looked surprisingly delicious.., 😋).

      I laughed out loud at your continual reminders of sunrise being at 6:58am, we are never promised perfect sunrise views, but it is always worth a try. Here in the USA New Year's isn't as big of a day as in Japan, we like counting down at midnight, but are usually pretty tired or sloshed, so January 1st doesn't hold a lot of significance. I'm sick, on top of being a little hungover from NYE, so I didn't even do my Southern American version of Osechi (collard greens, pork, black eyed peas, and cornbread) but I have them on deck, hopefully I will finally feel better enough to get my fix tomorrow, this cold has been bad. My kids and my husband aren't big fans of my southern food, so it will probably be a meal for one. I think every culture has its auspicious holiday foods, tailored around their lives. Despite having grandparents that had a dairy farm, drinking a cup of milk with a meal wasn't something I was into.
      Watching Die Hard is a holiday tradition for us too though, we have a family joke that it's not Christmas until Hans Gruber falls from Nakatomi tower, lol. It's hilarious to me that they showed that movie on a Japanese ferry/cruise during the holidays, lol.
      I could go on, but happy holidays and happy new year!
      I think that while I had already enjoyed Japanese culture and anime, I was glued to YouTube back in 2011, and I was so very worried then. That really started ny concern and interest in Japan – I wasn't just a Pokemon or whatever fan, I was really concerned after the big quake. Now I'm afraid that the overtourism will prevent me from visiting someday. 😢

      I would say when tomorrow's sunrise is, but it would only be a guess. LOL

      I hope you can find a way of not feeling lonely soon. Or a way of making peace with your loneliness.

      昨年の３月末に別の船ですが名古屋〜仙台で乗船しました。
      「人生を変えたい！」と思い切って決断した仙台への移住。期待と不安でいっぱいの心で乗船していました。

      あの時の気持ちを思い出しました。
      頑張ろう。
      そしてまた帰省の時や苫小牧旅行で乗りたい！

      I understand that so many in the "Land of the Sunrise", Japan, love to experience the sunrise.

      While we who live in the Nordic countries, who don't see the sun for several months during the winter, become jealous.

      「いしかり」もうレトロなんか、僕は2011年3月11日に東京晴海ふ頭で「いしかり」の船内見学会の最中に東日本大震災に遭ったし
      その年の6月に名古屋から苫小牧まで乗ったが、仙台港は途中下船出来なかったが、まだ普通に瓦礫の山そして船自体も陸上に乗ってたよ。
