  2. I payed 300$ Canadian for a 16 Specialized Stumpy Comp Evo, rebuilt the shocks, bled the brakes put new pads on it, cleaned n greased the bearings, put a new chain on it and it’s absolutely dreamy! Rides like new. Not bad for about 500$ or around 250 pounds (I think)

  3. Cheap bike challenge… Opening scene proceeds to unveil a high end bike that was given to him for free. Come on at least try to follow the rules and show people that miraculously some how you can buy an unmotorized pedal bike for less than the price of a motorcycle. No wonder bikes are the most commonly stolen item. I guess if you can afford multiple bikes that cost more than motorcycles and they are insured, then having them stolen isn't really a big deal to the owner since they have so much disposable income? Most of us only have one bike to get to work because we don't have enough space or make enough money to own a car….

  4. A little over the limit, but I think I have a winner. Full disclosure, I work part-time at a bike shop and last fall Giant was blowing out some old stock bikes. I got a 2022 Stance 1(sram 12 speed, full suspension) for $552. They were gone in less than a week.

  5. Very disappointing that these always advertise a price point that is immediately thrown out the window by abusing the status of the competitors.

Should have to purchase these through someone more anonymous so that what they get is within the budget and anyone off the street could get that price. Should exclude the parts bin and tools they have as well

  6. Owen, don't take this the wrong way, but you may want to swap out your rear cog for one with another tooth…maybe even 2…teeth. There is no shame in this, it will save your knees and make your single speed riding experience much better! I'm an avid 57 year old SSer and have had to adjust my gear ratio every few years to stay consistent. Yes, I usually want that harder gear when pointed downhill, but you should find the perfect compromise between climbing and descending. When that G.I. is found, the "flats" are glorious!.

  7. I want to see a $150 bike challenge, followed by the best bike they can build with $150 in added parts! It feels like a few of these could have performed a lot better with a couple hours of cleaning, tuning, lubrication, and replacement/repair of a few busted parts.
