I have a rim that I want to put on it a tubeless tire in the future.

Right now it’s not tubeless ready, but I ordered a conversion kit online and I wondered if the rim is even capable of being tubeless

Sorry the bike are unrecognisable, it’s a local company..

I’ll be so happy to hear your thoughts!

  1. With some rim tape , sealent and tubeless ready tyres I don’t see why it wouldn’t work

  2. On non tubeless intended wheels like this, I run gorilla tape over the eyelets just wide enough for the edges of the tape to imitate the “lip” on a UST tubeless rim. I then follow up with real tubeless tape that is wide enough to slightly go up the side of the rim bead to cover the rim joint so it wont leak. Whisky / terravail tubeless tape works best IMO.

Tubeless tyres and rims have a particular bead profile to keep the tyre on without a tube inside to hold it in place. You may have problems with a non tubeless rim you may not, only one way to find out.

  4. Also is there a good ‘Aliexpress brand’ that you recommend for a tubeless tire?
