  1. Don’t neglect the system weight of said bikes. Your weight, plus the bike, plus equipment, plus water and food is very often close to the limit. At least for me, I’m about 87ish kg.
    I’ve used my carbon bike for all these events and i haven’t had an issue. The ones I saw with broken frames, were broken from transport and not from the events, unless they had a serious crash. Personally, I stay away from Canyon as they have some proprietary stuff on their bikes (like stems on my road bike). But you see fair bit of people using Canyon exceed in that particular type of events.

    In addition, don’t get too attached to the bike 🙂 It’s get scratches soon enough. Depends on your use case, mechanical can be fixed pretty much anywhere, while electronic shifting has it’s perks, it can be hard to fix in certain parts of the world. Speaking from experience, in some places you can’t even get the right tubes for western bikes.
