The Strida gets points for its unconventional design. Unfortunately, at 6 feet, I'm too big for this. This is as high as the saddle goes, which still isn't ideal for pedal distance, and because the tube slopes forward, my knees hit the handlebars. Lowering the saddle would help with that at the cost of potentially blowing my knees out from being too close to the pedals. Strida doesn't make an extender to move the saddle further back, and since the mount is plastic, there's not much I can do to improvise.

The beauty is more in how it goes from this to a unit the size of an umbrella in about 10 seconds. The single-sided front fork and rear triangle allow the wheels to hold everything together with magnets on the sides of the hubs. Altogether a unique solution to the folding bike problem that trades rideability for extreme convenience and portability.

I want one. A guy near me is selling 2 with a busted ball joint casing for 200 together and I just can’t bring myself to drop that much on one of the beauties when i have no practical use for it

  2. def down to see more unconventional/ experimental/ prototype/ wacko bikes in this sub, with proper photography & specs & intentions behind it.

this one would be cool if they could somehow make it have different modes. like sidewalk mode, tron splayed out mode, and one in between. prob an engineering mountain to do it and here i am just mouthing off like it’s a walk in the park!
