Hey everyone, I could really use some advice.
My SRAM GX AXS rear derailleur seems to have failed somehow. There’s almost no tension in it anymore – it feels loose and doesn’t return properly. The chain length should be correct, so the derailleur should be taking care of the chain tension, but it’s not.

Is the derailleur done, or am I missing something obvious?

  1. 100% chain length. (Could be b tension but this much is a lot) The pivot you rock back and forth in the video isn’t supposed to maintain the tension; the cage is the part with spring in it

  2. To me the chain is too long, there should be tension bolt for the derailer, thought it after.

  3. No-Dragonfly8326 on

There’s a clip on some derailleurs to clip it up for maintenance and when clipped it looks like that – look around for a little switch and see if you can pull the derailleurs back down to ‘stretched’ normal position and adjust the switch.

But I think it’s meant to auto catch when you pull it back out.

  4. You need to set the b-stop with the chain in the second to largest cog using the white plastic SRAM tool.
