A summer Brompton ride through the South of France, from the beautiful town of Gourdon down to a lake in Groléjac.
I set off at 10:30 AM, with temperatures rising steadily from the low/mid twenties into the high twenties as the ride unfolded. The heat built gradually, turning a peaceful morning ride into a real test of pacing and hydration.
Traffic paid little attention, and cyclists paid even less, just me, the road, and the growing warmth of the day. Despite the heat, I managed to hit speeds of up to 42 kph, stopping twice along the way to cool down and recover.
At the lake, I met up with family (and our slightly crazy Airedale Terrier) and took a much needed swim before heading back. The day ended quietly at our French gîte, surrounded by a peaceful garden and the slow rhythm of summer.
No rush, no stress, just a folding bike, rising heat, and the roads of southern France.

Hey, thanks for joining us. We are planning a few weeks in France later this year. The journey will be documented in our sister channel, Campervan Habitude, but if you have any suggestions of where best I can ride my Brompton whilst on our journey, let us know. Until then, we hope you enjoy this short trip from Gourdon to Grohlejac Lake. Cheers. Mal.

I’m curious: Do the Meta glasses “record” into your phone, or how does it capture the video?
07:41 Go to France they say, motorists respectful to cyclists they say… not that close-passing kunt in the kangoo 😮 Or maybe they’re only respectful if you’re in a large group?
