
Ciao a tutti, quest'anno voglio partire a un'avventura dal'Italia fino in Australia, e dopo 2 mesi cercando quale sarebbe la bici ideale che non costi tanto, mi ritrovo ancora ad avere dubbi, sopratutto se prendere una 27,5 o una 29, risparmiare o spendere 1000 euro in più in un mozzo rohloff, telaio krampus, ogre o fargo.
Quindi chiedo agli esperti di reddit quale sarebbe la vostra scelta ideale per avere un punto di riferimento 🙂

Tbh I wouldn’t touch 27,5 or 29 bicycles for this extended tour. You will travel through countries in which both the accessibility of these types of tyres is harder.
So ideally go for a 26 inch or even 28 inch frame, these sizes are easy to obtain everywhere.
Rohloff is nice of course and doesn’t need a lot maintenance, but it is recommend to at least change the oil every 5000km, make sure to bring the tools you need to do so!
Make sure to get yourself comfortable to repair everything on the bike yourself. That includes changing cogs, chain, adjusting brakes and gears. changing gear cables, brake bleeding, headset maintenance, spoke changes, wheelset truing, and so on. This is probably the most important bit.
