I’ve made it to France, but it wasn’t exactly the “grand opening” I was hoping for! After a quick run-in with passport control and a cut leg before I even left the ferry terminal, the real challenge began: a brutal headwind that made every mile feel like ten.
In this episode, I’m cycling from the St Malo ferry terminal toward Mont Saint-Michel. Along the way, I stumble upon an incredible classic car rally, navigate some tricky detours, and share a major health update regarding my recent chest pain investigations and liver scans.
Touring isn’t always sunshine and smooth roads; sometimes it’s about pushing through leg pain, finding closed campsites, and eventually settling for a late-night “picky” dinner because you’re too tired to cook. This is the reality of self-supported bicycle touring—messy, tiring, but still thoroughly enjoyable!
