From Munich in Germany we headed east towards Salzburg in Austria before turning south onto the Eurovelo 7 Alpe Adria cycle route over the Alps towards Slovenia. We crossed the River Drava cycle route at Villach and dipped into Italy twice and enjoyed a day off in the very beautiful city of Ljubljana before reaching Croatia. We then followed the Eurovelo 8 round the Istrian coastline and popped over to the island of Pag on the Trans Dinarica route before finishing at Zadar. 6 countries and around 1300km of bikepacking in 16 days.

Beautiful. For me it was nostalgic as I have ridden most of the path as well, including Alpe Adria, Pag and Zadar 🙂 I have missed just some of the Germany and Slovenia. Ciclovia Alpe Adria Radweg is the best. Jadranska Magistrala in Croatia is beautiful as well, the traffic is sometimes crazy though. I got nearly hit by a german sailboat 🙂 (on trailer)
