  1. I have that exact green GT I refused to discard and I would love get your build list. Whenever I take it out It's like riding a couch compared to my newer bike.

  2. 26" mtb wheels used to be the bestest wheel size ever. They mocked people who rode 700c off road.
Now 29" is the bestest size ever and they mock people who ride 26".
650b used to be a niche French touring/utility wheel with a boutique following in California.

I ride all wheel sizes and really dont think it makes a huge difference. The critical thing is that wheels should not be too big for the frame size. 26" is perfect for average women and smaller men, both on and off road.

650b /27.5 has a use in letting 700c frames run wider tyres.

  3. back in the 80s (yes, I am old) I had a Schwinn High Sierra and I kept into the 2000s when it was stolen. I just bought another with the thought of converting it into a gravel bike.

  4. I know next to nothing about bike maintenance etc. but started volunteering at a local bike co op and looking forward to getting to the point where I can do this level of project by myself. Thanks for the inspiration!
