A good, old bikepacking adventure across England on the Trans Pennine Trail.

A coastal route from the west coast to the east coast, riding across the Peak district, the Trans Pennine Trail offers 215 miles of cycleway adventuring. The question is, how long does it take for us to make it? If we make it at all.

  1. new friend new subscriber

I also show these travel videos, cycling videos, homoly videos, so this is my news channel too, yours is also new, I will cooperate with you, you cooperate with me and this will do a lot of good for both of our channels.full watch

  2. Thanks for sharing your trip. Looked like a lot of fun!

Can I ask what gear ratio your friend was using on his hardtail? I'm thinking about doing a trip on mine (bought secondhand with the intention of using it for bikepacking). I ride it a lot with luggage on it (frame and saddle), but haven't tried it in anything 'major' whilst fully loaded ie handle bar bag. I'm a little concerned that the gears won't be enough for climbing (comfortably) offroad.

    My gears are currently 2 (36/22) x 10 (11/36).

  3. Great video. Guys felt so sorry for you with all the bad weather I did Morecombe to Bridlington 2 years ago with my son had lovely weather thankfully.
Love the way you both kept smiling shame tou never got to finish.
Then the year later did coast and castles Newcastle to Edinburgh had dreadful weather like you peddling through puddles then I came off on a level crossing but carried on to Bamburgh the next day set of but inpain when we got to Bewick on tweed rain pouring down again so we binned it regretfully feel like I still have some unfinished bussines 😢

  4. I like your approach – just get on yer bike and ride. No advance booking required. Too bad about the raw milk: a friend of mine had a similar experience with it. No shame in recognizing when you have to get rescued.

  5. Great channel Lew. I recently got into the Bikepacking scene and I agree with so much that you say and do. It is a real head space clearer and enables you to forget so much of the day to day goings on that we all do but don't enjoy!

I'm from the UK but currently working out in Saudi Arabia where the weather is a bit hot to be in a tent but it's just 3 weeks until I'm out on the road on my trip of cycling and camping my way around the complete coastline of Sardinia.

I so hope I can create a long format video of your quality as I'm very new to all this technology, whether that's filming, editing, YouTube and social media in general.

It's great when you find somebody with a channel you enjoy as it allows you to get tips on all aspects.

Keep the videos coming, fella. Subscribed!!

  6. For those looking for a campsite just off the Cheshire Lines (start of the Southport end) there's a cracking little campsite in Lydiate called 'Hidden Corner Campsite' – also a very short ride/walk away from a nearby Starbucks, McDonalds and KFC, if that's you're sort of thing.

  7. I agree totally with your comments about kit, too many people on YouTube buying really expensive gear, having to keep up with what's new and trendy, then looking down on those with basic stuff.

  8. I live just off the Western end of the T-P-T and have ridden the eastern end .
What I really MUST do is to hop on a train over to the east coast and ride home end-to-end.
    And I will, hopefully in 2026 👍🤞
